ABOUT Sree

Sree is a South Asian, South Indian, Tamil photographer, writer, artist and content creator from San José, Calif. She is currently a full-time staff photographer for India Currents Magazine and a CatchLight Local Fellow as part of the CatchLight Local Visual Desk in California.

Prior to her fellowship Sree spent a decade plus photographing families and weddings and also worked as for several decades as an individual contributor and leader in commerce, education and tech spaces.

Sree was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease (YOPD) in 2015. She is one of the co-founders of the Women’s Parkinson’s Project an advisor for My Moves Matter and an Ambassador and part of the Living Well with Parkinson’s Disease webinar series for the Davis Phinney Foundation. Sree was recently a panelist at the 2023 World Parkinson Congress in Barcelona on the topic of YOPD.

Sree’s personal work explore themes of identity, culture, disability and displacement.
